Chocolate Chip Cookies
For these cookies, I followed an Alton Brown recipe. His show is really quite nice, but I think he gets a little too carried away with the theatrics, though. I mean, if you want to teach me how to make a good chili, show me how to make a good chili. Please. You don't have to dress up like a Hollywood cowboy, or talk like a Hollywood cowboy, or — well, you get my drift. Just the facts, please.
As much as I like Alton Brown, I think I'll try recipes from people who don't do that sort of thing, from now on.
These cookies were reasonably good. But not great. I think cookies should be great. I mean, what are cookies? They are mostly fat (butter) and sugar — if you're gonna eat things like that, it better damn well taste fantastic. Physically speaking, a cookie is unhealthy, but emotionally and psychologically speaking, a cookie is a nice and nurturing, even a wonderful thing.
